“ We have been coming to Hole in the Wall since about 2010 or so. The food is always great and my boys love their oysters. We went today and the Food was still very good and service is great. We definitely missed Ms. Barbara she was always such a hoot as long as you never took her seriously. I know she was a love her or hate her type person and we definitely loved her! As I understand she actually left the restaurant before she passed but I would have still liked to see some kind of remembrance to her and Danny at the restaurant. But I do understand since it's new owners. We will be back next time for sure! ”

We spoke with the owner who had purchased the restaurant in the last year or so. We really enjoyed the hospitality and can at that the place is in great hands. “ Over the past 12 years we've been going to Hole in the Wall multiple times during our annual one week vacation to SGI. The staff, service and food have been outstanding during every single visit. This year the ownership changed but the food and service have remained great! New owner Cliff, son Mark, Deb and the back of house staff are friendly and eager to please while still serving the best oysters, grouper, shrimp and gumbo anywhere. No exaggeration! We've been in town three days and have been twice and will be going again later this week. It's that good! So far this week we've had an embarrassing number a dozen raw oysters (outstanding), pounds of steamed shrimp (also outstanding), fried grouper, oyster and shrimp baskets (all super) and togo orders of the seafood gumbo (excellent). They are super busy during peak times but seating (at the bar or table) turns over fairly quickly. The decor is what you would expect and the location is great, right in historic downtown Apalachicola. If you do have to wait, Oyster City Brewing is right next door and will quench your thirst with their outstanding brews. ”
